St. John Parish XXIII
Zagreb,Croatia
Artist: Jeronim Tišljar, arch. ured Arbi
Production: Bokart, 2019.
In a vivid area of the Croatian capital, the city of Zagreb, a new church dedicated to Pope John XXIII was decorated with modern stained art glass made by the Croatian artist called Jeronim Tišljar. This somewhat Romanesque church has two large side openings and two frontal windows. At the entrance, there’s a symbolic image of Saint Mary and the nativity scene, which faces Christ Pantocrator. Both sides of the church have two large window openings which portray saints and blessed people from Croatia and the region. Large windows were made using ceramic colors and the airbrush technique, and were further partially sandblasted. All glass was placed in separate units, with the second layer of glass enamel painted to serve as background color.
